The Vision

The new Chabad Jewish Center will include:

  • A welcoming synagogue and social hall for prayer and community life
  • A children's school and youth center
  • A kosher kitchen and café for community programs and volunteering
  • The first mikvah in the entire region
  • Hospitality suites for visiting families and tourists
  • A courtyard for events, concerts, and celebrations
  • A library and learning center for Torah study
  • A shop for kosher staples, Judaica, and Jewish art

Jewish Continuity

  • Rabbi Daniel and Rebbetzin Raizel Huebner arrived in 2018 with a vision to build a Jewish home for every soul in San Miguel
  • 7+ years living here, fully bilingual — San Miguel is their permanent home
  • They live on-site at Chabad, always on call, day or night, 365 days a year
  • Young, energetic, and fully committed to the future of Jewish life in SMA
  • Together they raise their seven children, creating a home filled with joy, warmth, wisdom, and connection
What We Do — Serve Every Jew
  • A Rabbi and Rebbetzin who guide, teach, counsel, and support every Jew
  • All backgrounds and levels of observance welcomed and celebrated
  • Full lifecycle support — Kaddish minyan, brises, baby namings, bar & bat mitzvah, weddings, funerals, and shiva
  • Hospital and home visits with care and compassion
  • Shabbat meals and kosher hospitality for residents and visitors
  • Seniors: wellness check-ins, shared traditions, and a true support system

For a community stretching across central Mexico, the closest kosher mikvah today is four hours away in Mexico City. Our new center will change that — bringing this essential foundation of Jewish life home for the first time, serving families and visitors across the entire region.

A mikvah is where Jewish continuity begins. This one will be the only one for hundreds of miles — a gift not just to San Miguel, but to every Jewish family and traveler who passes through.
